I'm reading a book I absolutely must share with you. It's called The Piano Tuner by Daniel Drake and it follows the journey of a piano tuner ( natch) from London who has been summoned to the hostile militia infested jungles of Burma by a very eccentric Surgeon-Major who has a special gift for maintaining peace in a country rife with violence.I have a feeling his peace keeping abilities has something to do with the piano that's central to the story. The descriptions of Burmese countryside and peoples in the late 1800's are so eloquent and poetic that I just had to see some images for myself. These are some of my favourites.Beautiful people, land and culture. Shame about their oppressive rule.

Fancy Footwear
I have a shoe fetish, as do most females I'm sure. It's the one part of my body that doesn't enlarge with the rest of my girth, so shopping isn't quite so painful during times of dietary indiscretion. For today's post I went cyber-shopping and came up with some beauts. These are all haute couture shoes. The most expensive pair? 30,000 pounds. Can you guess which one?
