Ephemera: Vintage Book Bindings

I admit to judging a book by it's cover and that instinct has not yet led me astray, and I read quite abit. These covers would totally draw my attention....gorgeous to behold, and I bet, a great read as well. These are from the collection of William Spencer, an avid book collector from the turn of the century who died aboard the Titanic. They date from 1880-1910 and represent some of the best French bindings from that period.Images from the New York Public Library.
